Reminding the Child: A Superhero's Story

Do not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world. All things break. And all things can be mended. Not with time, as they say, but with intention. So go. Love intentionally, extravagantly, unconditionally. The broken world waits in darkness for the light that is in you.

Watching a person live through adverse life experiences and then through the hardship develop the ability to accept their calling in life to help others truly amazes me.

Today’s story involves children and their right to become superheroes.

Imagine Living with Jesus

How sad it is that those who were "His own" did not receive Jesus. Somehow, up close and personally they missed the living embodiment of God Himself! To this Jesus graciously said, "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do."

"But to all who did receive (welcome Him and submit to) Him, who believed (a personal trust) in His name (all that is true about Him) He gave (authority, power, and grace) the right to become children of God.

We are children. With faith like a child, what did He tell you when He called you into a life of purpose to serve Him? What word or phrase was it? Mine was superhero! God told me I was a superhero, vine in branch I began to experience what amazing things of abundance we see found in Luke 4:18 when Jesus read in the temple from the scroll of Isaiah,

"The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed."

Full of the Spirit, led by the Spirit, Jesus returned from 40 days in the desert "being tempted by the devil" and upon returning these are the first words that He proclaimed. To proclaim is to announce officially or publicly.

Do you know who you are? Try and remember.

Faith like a Child

As His child, we can accept our secure right given only by God and taken by none. We didn't earn it and therefore we can't lose it. What has God said of you in His love and calling? Start with the Truth of who you are.

We must be reminded of the children we are and how great our Father is.

I remember. Like Peter is reminded by the lost boys who he is. Like the prodigal son that squandered it all with the prostitutes and the self-righteous older brother than never left the nest, the dishonest money manager who responded shrewdly and came up with 80 instead of 100 and was commended for it and given more.

Believe this: Out of the pain, through the devastation and the loss, when it seems this great injustice is upon you -

you and I can bring something beautiful to others.
